The Braves rallied with one out in the ninth with consecutive run-scoring singles by Dan Uggla, Chipper Jones and Jason Heyward. Jonny Venters (2-0) earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning and Craig Kimbrel worked a perfect ninth for his seventh save.

Atlanta grabbed an early lead on Dan Uggla’s RBI single in the fourth inning off Ted Lilly, who gave up three hits with one walk and two strikeouts over seven innings.

Matt Kemp broke a 1-1 tie when he led off the sixth with a solo blast off Brandon Beachy, who allowed two runs over 6 1/3 innings with six strikeouts.
