Yankees 6, Mariners 2: Raul Ibanez homered and drove in three runs and Chris Stewart scored three times as host New York took two of three from Seattle.

Mark Teixeira and Derek Jeter had RBI singles for the Yankees, who belted out 11 hits - one day removed from being held to just two in a 1-0 loss. New York finished its nine-game homestand with a 4-5 mark.

Freddy Garcia (5-5) snapped a three-game losing skid after laboring through five innings. The former Mariners hurler permitted two runs on five hits, but issued four walks to drive up his pitch count.

After Jeter gave New York a 4-2 lead with a two-out RBI single in the fourth inning, Ibanez blasted an offering from Hisashi Iwakuma (2-3) into the seats in deep right-center field in the fifth.

Ibanez then doubled the advantage in the sixth inning after he lifted a liner just over the glove of leaping shortstop Munenori Kawasaki for a two-out, two-run single.

Former Yankees farmhand Jesus Montero had an RBI single in the first inning for the Mariners.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Former Mariner Ichiro Suzuki extended his hitting streak to 12 games after his pop up was lost in the sun by CF Michael Saunders in the seventh inning. He tied Don Slaught (1988) for the longest such streak to begin a career with the Yankees. ... Seattle SS Brendan Ryan sat out the contest after he was hit on the left elbow by a pitch during Saturday's game. ... The Yankees will head to Detroit for a four-game set with the Tigers. ... The Mariners will travel to Baltimore on Monday for a three-game series.
