The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Los Angeles.

Ethier homered in the first to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. Loney’s two-out homer in the third was Los Angeles’ only hit of the inning. Pittsburgh’s Bobby Crosby and Jeff Clement both made fielding errors to put runners on.

It was Loney’s first homer of the season as he went 3-for-3 with a walk.

Chad Billingsley (2-1) pitched six innings for the Dodgers and allowed two runs and six hits. He struck out four and walked three.

Andrew McCutchen had a run-scoring double in the first inning and Ryan Doumit doubled in a run in the fourth for Pittsburgh.

Pirates starter Charlie Morton (0-5) struck out eight in six innings, but gave up six runs -- only three of which were earned.
