Bronson Arroyo pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings to carry the Cincinnati Reds to a 4-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.

Arroyo (5-2) was again dominant as he won his fifth straight game. The right-hander allowed just five singles, struck out three and walked two.

Miguel Cairo and Chris Heisey belted solo home runs and Orlando Cabrera drove in a pair of runs as the Reds have now won eight of 12 contests.

Pittsburgh starter Ross Ohlendorf (0-3) took the loss in allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings. He struck out five and walked five.

The Reds took a 2-0 lead on Cairo’s first blast of the season in the fifth. Cabrera brought in a run with a single in the ensuing inning.

Three relievers, including closer Francisco Cordero, made the lead stand following Arroyo's exit.

The Pirates continued to struggle offensively as they have scored the fewest runs in National League. Neil Walker led the way with a pair of hits.
