Rookie phenom Mike Leake pitched seven strong innings and Scott Rolen drove in a pair of runs as the Cincinnati Reds squeezed out a 6-4 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday.

Drew Stubbs and Brandon Phillips scored two runs apiece and Joey Votto added an RBI triple for the Reds, who have taken the first two games of the three-game set.

Leake (2-0) allowed one run and five hits while walking two and striking out five to earn his second major league win. The 22-year-old right-hander leads the Cincinnati staff with a 3.25 ERA.

The Astros defense let starter Felipe Paulino down in the fourth when right fielder Hunter Pence's error on Phillip's fly ball allowed three runs to score. Rolen capped the four-run frame by plating Phillips with a double.

Paulino (0-3) was saddled with all six runs - two earned - and six hits while walking four and striking out four.

Lance Berkman hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth for the Astros, who have dropped two straight after winning six of seven.
