Josh Naylor, Pavin Smith, Tim Tawa and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. smashed homers, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 6-2 win over the host Miami Marlins on Wednesday night.

The first three were solo shots before Gurriel added a two-run blast as the Diamondbacks won for the sixth time in seven games, including two victories to start the current three-game series. Arizona went deep three times in a 10-4 win over Miami in the series opener on Tuesday.

For Tawa, a former Stanford standout, it was his first major league homer.

Matt Mervis led Miami by slugging a solo home run on his 27th birthday.

Arizona starter Brandon Pfaadt (3-1) lasted 5 2/3 innings and allowed one run on five hits and two walks. He struck out six.

Miami's Max Meyer (1-2) tossed six innings and gave up five hits, two walks and three runs. He fanned eight.

Arizona opened the scoring when Naylor led off the second inning with a homer that tipped off the bottom half of center fielder Derek Hill's glove. It was Naylor's third long ball of the year.

The Marlins tied the score 1-1 when Mervis opened the fourth with his sixth homer of the season -- a 396-foot blast to right-center. Mervis reached down to hammer a Pfaadt curveball that dropped below the strike zone.

Arizona took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on Corbin Carroll's RBI single. He drove in Gabriel Moreno, who had singled and advanced on a walk.

The Diamondbacks padded their lead as Smith (429-footer in the sixth) and Tawa (414-footer in the seventh) went deep. Gurriel added his two-run shot, a 415-footer, in the eighth.

Miami cut the deficit to 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth on Otto Lopez's RBI double to right.

Arizona's Justin Martinez pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to close out the win in a non-save situation.

Prior to the game, the Marlins traded infielder Jonah Bride to the Twins for cash considerations. Bride, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday, hit .100 (4-for-40) for Miami this year.
