Luis Arraez lined a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night as the San Diego Padres snapped the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers' seven-game winning streak with a 2-1 decision.

Luis Campusano started the inning with his and the team's second hit of the game, a double into the left field corner off Michael Grove (1-2). After Ha-Seong Kim struck out, Arraez laced a first-pitch fastball into center field and pinch runner Tyler Wade easily beat the throw home.

Robert Suarez (2-0) worked a 1-2-3 top of the ninth for the win, San Diego's seventh in nine games. It was only the third loss in 17 games for Los Angeles, which still leads the second-place Padres by 5 1/2 games in the National League West.

Neither starter was involved in the decision despite dominating performances. The Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow gave up just one hit and one run in seven innings, walking two and fanning 10 to take over the major league lead in strikeouts with 73.

However, the Padres' Michael King outpitched him in his seven scoreless innings, permitting only two hits and three walks while striking out 11. King's bid for the win was denied when Yuki Matsui gave up a game-tying sacrifice fly to Freddie Freeman in the eighth.

Mookie Betts led off the inning with a single and reached third on Shohei Ohtani's double to the left-center-field wall. After Freeman's run-scoring fly to left and an intentional walk to Will Smith, Matsui kept the game tied when he induced a 6-3 double play from Max Muncy.

The only meaningful hit for seven innings came from Campusano in the bottom of the third. He opened up on a high fastball from Glasnow and drilled it an estimated 429 feet over the wall in left-center. It was Campusano's third homer of the year.

The teams combined for 24 strikeouts and just seven hits. San Diego managed such little traffic on the bases that it stranded only one runner -- Arraez on his game-winning hit.
